Visiting US violinist Gregory Walker jams with musicians from the Cork Music Collective. Gregory Walker has brought rap, hip-hop and jazz styles together with classical music in his compositions, while as a performer he has recorded and performed classical masterpieces such as Vivaldi's The Four Seasons on electric violin. In this session he will meet members and friends of Cork Music Collective for a good old-fashioned jam - and who knows what will happen. If you're an experienced improviser bring your instrument and come on up - if not come and see what happens when an open-minded visiting virtuoso takes a chance on Cork! Cork Music Collective is an ever-expanding of Cork based people working together to organise musical events and support each other's projects. We meet weekly upstairs at the Roundy Bar to work on our projects and to play music together. Some of the members of the collective work professionally in the music business while others enjoy playing and are developing their skills and talents. Other members come from related fields such as graphic design, video production and community work. We are confident that together we can achieve and maintain the top class music business infrastructure that Cork deserves.
